SANDY Hill kids took to the ramps when a mobile skate park visited the estate’s recreation area.

Thirty children and young people, ranging from four years old to teenagers, brushed up on their skateboarding, scootering and cycling skills with help from a team from Horsham Council.

The event was organised by the Sandy Hill Community Bungalow, which provides a base for community groups and individuals to meet, learn new skills and feel part of the community.

The three-hour event, which started at noon, allowed participants to practise and learn new skills on the slopes watched by their parents and grandparents.

It was a positive and enjoyable experience for the participants, many of whom had never experienced anything like it before.

The event was funded by a collaboration of generous donations and support from the Farnham Lions, Farnham Hedgehogs, Care Farnham, Surrey County Council and Waverley Borough Council.

Sandy Hill Bungalow hopes, if funding allows, to offer a similar event again during future school holidays for young people to enjoy.
