CHILDREN at Liphook Infant School eagerly awaited Father Christmas’ annual visit during their last assembly of the year.

As part of a school tradition spanning 42 years, Santa arrived laden with sacks of presents for the 270 children from nine classes.

As a special treat the children sang some of their favourite Christmas songs, which this year included It’s a Long Way on a Donkey, Follow a Shining Star, Wonderful Camels, and all-time favourite Jingle Bells.

Headteacher Greg Braham said: “All the children and staff have worked very hard this term and each year group recently gave two performances of their Christmas play to parents, families and friends.

“They also had a lovely time at the Christmas Fair and everyone was ready for their well-deserved Christmas break.”
