THE man of the moment made a scheduled stop at his grotto in Rogate on Saturday, helping raise a magnificent £3,400 for charity.

Father Christmas, together with an array of enticing festive stalls offering crafts, toys, bric a brac, homemade cakes and jams and preserves, all helped swell the funds along with a bottle tombola and raffle.

Proceeds from the market will go to charities at home and abroad, including Home-Start Butser and organisations based in Sierra Leone, Liberia and the Gambia.
