A BEAUTIFUL winter's day gave Santa and his helpers at Froxfield Primary School the chance to swell building fund coffers by £1,000.

Held in the school grounds, the Christmas fair included Santa's grotto, stalls, fun for children, and even massage and reflexology for parents.

And it was all in aid of adding to the funds needed to create a much- needed multi-functional space and library for the school's growing numbers which school headteacher Vickie Farrow branded "very exciting".

"We now have in excess of £60,000 and hope the building will go ahead next year and be ready for use toward the end of the autumn term," said Mrs Farrow.
