ELVES got into action to help Santa with his busy workload at Haslemere’s St Ives School, last Saturday.

Dubbed an “open morning with a twist”, the elf-themed event was organised as a fun introduction to the school for children, aged two to eight, who made Christmas decorations and enjoyed music and drama.

Headteacher Kay Goldsworthy said: “We had a wonderful morning of festive fun with the children, who all enjoyed being creative and helping our elves get things ready for Christmas.

“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we were so glad to see all the children go away full of Christmas spirit and excitement.

“This event was one of a series of open days we have developed to show parents and children from Haslemere and the surrounding areas, the opportunities St Ives offers.

“We have recently announced that we will be extending our offer to boys as well as girls from reception to year two from September 2017 so it is important to us parents see that we offer something really special here.”

The school in Three Gate Lane, has open mornings planned for Friday, January 20, and Friday, February 3, in 2017.
