PIERREPONT Farm in Tilford, is excited to announce the return of its Saturday Safari Club, a club aimed specifically at children with a keen interest in the natural world.

The programme, which meets once a month, gives children the opportunity to take part in a variety of themed activities to explore the farm and see it change through the seasons.

Due to the club’s great success last year, organisers are now taking bookings for 2017. Leading the two-hour sessions will be Pierrepont’s education officer, Annika Rees, who will explore the farm’s many rich habitats, including the woodland and pond.

As well as taking a look into different aspects of the environment and its wildlife – there will also be opportunities for participants to take part in and contribute data towards scientific studies.

By taking part in the club regularly throughout the year, there will also be the chance of gaining a recognised award, the John Muir Discovery Award, at the end of the programme.

The first two sessions will be Saturday, March 11, and Saturday, April 8. It is completely free to join and is tailored for children aged approximately seven to 11 years old.

There will be a morning session, running from 10am to 12pm and an afternoon session running from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Appropriate outdoor clothing including wellies is recommended, and children will need to be accompanied by an adult.
