MORE than 500 scarecrows have been created for a forthcoming festival.

Children and their parents spent three days designing movie character-themed creations to be featured over the early May bank holiday weekend at the Frensham Scarecrow Festival.

The much-loved festival has grown in popularity over the past eight years and attracts families from across Surrey and Hampshire.

Youngsters' creations will be exhibited from May 2-4 on Shortfield Common between 11am and 5pm each day.
