THE end of the summer term is usually a cause for celebration among youngsters.
But the start of the holidays has also heralded a new era at one of the smallest schools in East Hampshire.
Parents, staff and pupils got conclusive proof on Tuesday that Froxfield Infant School has graduated to primary status – and East Hampshire MP Damian Hinds had the honour of taking down the Union Flag that covered the sign.
The move from infant to primary status has been a long time coming for staff, governors and supporters of the village school, but it's a win-win situation for both pupils and bean-counters, as it all but secures the school's long-term future.
