MAY celebrations are a longstanding tradition at Frensham’s St Mary’s School.
Parents decorate the playground with flowers from their gardens and the children vote in a secret ballot for a May King and Queen.
Once the stage is set, the ‘royal party’ proceed around the playground, before the King crowns the Queen who declares the celebrations open.
Each class performs a country dance and may pole dance in front of an audience of parents and grandparents.
Tea and cake is then enjoyed – with the children delighting in special class cakes.
