SOUTH Farnham School was full of festive cheer as more than 1,000 excited children, parents and friends came along to take part in the annual Christmas fair.
The event, a fundraiser organised by the school’s PFA, played host to throngs of excited children and parents, eager to find a Christmas bargain or two and enjoy the fun festivities.
Various stalls tempted the crowds with sweets, cakes, toys, books and Christmas decorations, while tombolas persuaded visitors to try their luck in order to win an assortment of yuletide items.
Children were entertained by Christmas card making and a Santa’s Grotto in the school gym.
The main hall played host to the ever-popular ‘silent auction’, calling on adults to out-bid each other to win a range of exciting gifts.
Many children purchased presents for their families from the Secret-Santa Grotto and adults chose Christmas gifts from the selection of festively packaged toiletries and other hampers on sale.
Headteacher Claire Donnachie thanked all those who took part on the day.
“This was a wonderful occasion for children, parents and teachers to come into the school and take part in some festive fun together,” she said.
“The annual Christmas fair is always a much anticipated event and this year didn’t disappoint.
“I think it is safe to say that we all had a fantastic time and I would like to say a huge thank you to all those who helped make it such a success.”
