A FARNHAM school has launched its Lego Legacy project, an inventive initiative that will raise money for the governors’ fund and see three pupils’ designs created in Lego.

St Peter’s Primary School ran an art competition based on themes relevant to life at St Peter’s and entries flooded in.

Bright Bricks in Bordon selected three winners to be made into 50x50 Lego murals. Each mural has been sponsored by a local organisation or individual and the St Peter’s community will be able to buy the bricks that will be used to build the designs.

Each person who buys bricks will receive a certificate showing where they are located and children will have the opportunity to place their bricks on the murals during school time or at a special family building event in March.

The project was launched by announcing the winners in an assembly attended by one of the sponsors and a representative from the governing body.

School governor Bart Caines said: “It was fantastic to see the winning designs for this exciting project that will raise money for school improvement and generate a striking piece of art to be enjoyed for years to come.

“Many thanks to Pat Frost, BBS Ltd and Wrecclesham Sport and Social Club for their support and to all the children who worked hard creating designs.”

Pat Frost, who was at one time chair of governors at St Peter’s, added: “It’s a pleasure to be asked to contribute to this excellent project and I look forward to coming back when it’s completed.”
