LIPHOOK Junior School’s Year 6 leavers’ party raised £916 for the charity Dreams Come True.

It proved to be a party with a difference for the whole year group to celebrate moving on to secondary school.

Organised by parents, the party was held off campus at Liphook Church Centre, on Portsmouth Road, and featured hot dogs and burgers, as well as a disco for the pupils while adults had a sit-down meal.

Cash from tickets helped raise money for their chosen charity Dreams Come True, a clear winner in the pupils’ vote.

Organiser Helen Millard said: “Pupils could also buy a personalised hoodie in a colour of their choice, which had every child’s name from Year 6 on the back and the pupil’s name or initials on the front. All the money raised was donated to Dreams Come True, which is now 30 years old.”
