HOOK Junior School marked Earth Day with a litter pick around the grounds.

The school’s Nurture Group, led by Mrs Middleton, linked the event with the ‘Clean for the Queen’ campaign. The children are making a card to send to the Queen, to let her know how they celebrated her birthday.

On the big day they wore special t-shirts to highlight what they were doing, and worked in pairs.

More than one billion people in 196 countries are reckoned to observe Earth Day.
