WEYBOURNE Infant School welcomed a visit by Jeremy Hunt MP and the new mayor and mayoress of Farnham last Friday to open officially its new pond and nature reserve. The reserve is the culmination of a two-year parent-led project to transform an overgrown corner of the school into a new outdoor learning area. It includes a newly dug-out pond which is home to a toad abode, along with four raised beds for classes to grow their own fruit and vegetables, bug hotel, bird and bat boxes, and outdoor learning space. The headteacher of Weybourne Infants, Linda Mason, said: "This will be a fantastic resource for all children, enabling them to learn about nature through rich direct experience, which is invaluable."
