FOLLOWING last week's public forum about the future of Bohunt Manor land, Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council's planning committee discussed details of their pre-application statement to the South Downs National Park Authority.
Their focus was on the primary school proposal by Bohunt Academy, which depends on permission being given to Green Village Investments for approximately 150 new homes to be built inside the boundary of the South Downs National Park.
Jeanette Kirby summarised the points made by the scores of protesters at the Forum which attracted a full house at Liphook's Millennium Centre on July 9.
They included protecting of the countryside in a historic conservation area, an increase in traffic and its impact on Liphook's Square and the lack of infrastructure in the village to cope with any new residents
She also pointed out that the existing primary school had permission to extend and that this would be the most suitable option, as there was adequate land available.
