PLANS to revert an infant school near Petersfield back into a primary should be confirmed this week.

Supporters of Froxfield Infant School want to turn back the clock by getting pupils to stay beyond year two.

Staff and governors will ask local parents for their views on reverting to primary status in a forthcoming consultation.

They believe the move will be fairer to local youngsters and parents, but will also secure the school's long-term future.

Year three pupils have been forced to travel to East Meon Primary School or elsewhere since the school changed its status in the 1960s.
