ST Andrew’s Infant School in the heart of Farnham held its popular annual spring fair once again last week, with the rain very kindly holding off until it was time to pack up.

Past, present and future St Andrew’s pupils plus a good few from other schools enjoyed a wide range of fun activities: a bouncy castle, coconut shy, brand new games Splat the Rat and Lob a Frog In The Bog, and many more. There was a cake stall, nail parlour and ‘Scotty’ the clown who made everyone laugh and gasp in amazement at his magic tricks.

St Andrew’s School’s very own celebrity chef Ben Smith cooked the burgers and sausages, generously donated by local butchers Morgans, on the newly-donated barbecue, and a moment the children and parents will remember for a long time was when the head and executive head offered themselves to have wet sponges thrown at them.

With a raffle and silent auction packed full of prizes given by local businesses and some prize lots in the auction the day was a great success, raising funds for the PTA (ably led by this year’s chair Anna Elliott) to use towards further improving school facilities.

A member of staff said: ‘It always amazes me how much effort and enthusiasm goes into all PTA events, they raise lots of money for the school but more importantly they bring the school together.”
