A NATIONAL vetting system set up by the Government to safeguard children against paedophiles has been given the thumbs up by Farnham schools and youth groups this week, despite widespread controversy.
The new Vetting and Barring Scheme, which comes into effect next month, will see one in four British adults screened by the recently founded Independent Safeguarding Authority.
