YOUNG members of the 8th Alton Venture Scouts rolled up their sleeves, donned protective clothing and, with brushes in hand, painted the Public Garden railings to help in the town's preparation for the forthcoming visit on July 10 by judges from South and South East England in Bloom. The Scouts were helping to spruce up the entrance to the gardens from Ladyplace car park as part of their commitment to community service.
