MEMBERS of an East Hampshire Scout group have spoken of their frustration and despair following a spate of vandalism at their village home. Vandals used "considerable force" to smash a window at the headquarters of the 1st Sheet (St Mary's) Scoup group sometime last weekend. The incident left shattered glass around the premises but thankfully the breakage was spotted before the nursery opened the following day. The breakage, which took place between 5pm last Friday and 4pm the following Sunday, follows a string of similar events at the hut. At least eight windows have been smashed by mindless vandals over the last few years while guttering and woodwork has also been damaged. The spate has cast a long shadow over the group's £150,000 bid to refurbish and improve their ageing home off Sheet recreation ground. For full story, see this week's Petersfield Herald.
