DANIEL Hall, headquarters of the 3rd Farnham Scouts and located just behind Waitrose on Long Garden Walk, has been given a new lease of life this year.
The hall is listed as a building of historical significance and thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts by the Scout group, it is now ready to serve the community for another 200 years, following significant restoration works which started in January and so far have totalled in excess of £200,000 - all raised through donations, fundraising events and grant applications.
The hall will be open on Saturday as part of the Farnham Heritage Week and the Scouts would love people to come in and have a look around to see the amazing progress achieved so far.
Volunteers have been busy sanding, painting and cleaning over the past few weeks so that the Scout sections can be back meeting at the hall this term.
However, further funds are still needed to complete, among other things, the multi-purpose kitchen, the IT suite and additional disabled facilities.
