SCOUTS normally help others, but this time they are asking people to lend them a hand to help get their new home up and running.

Having recently moved, the 1st Bordon Scouts have put out a DIY SOS for volunteers to help renovate their new base in Kildare Road on Saturday, November 21.

“Bordon Scouts are to be rehomed in the old youth club in Kildare Road (near Martinique House),” Scouts chairman Kay Bush explained.

“We would like to publicly thank Taylor Wimpey, in particular Naomi Metcalfe and her team - they have been very supportive to the group since we had to leave the old Scout hut in Station Road. We need to give the property a lick of paint and are going to be running a DIY SOS-style day on November 21.

“This is a fantastic prospect for the local community to work together with a youth group to ensure the young in our community are given the opportunities to develop to their full potential. Desperately needed are decorating provisions before the day - such as paint, paint brushes, rollers and carpets - and labour on the day to help us decorate the premises.”
