SONGS from a bygone era had pensioners in full voice at the annual 1st Petersfield Scout Group Christmas tea party last week.

Some 60 older folk from the town enjoyed a special Christmas tea, including the obligatory mince pieces, courtesy of parents and families of children from Petersfield Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.

Well versed in Pack up Your Troubles, My Old Man's A Dustman and other popular melodies, and led by the 30 or so youngsters, the guests were served by the youngsters who acted as waiters and waitresses.

They also served up a feast of sketches and other entertainment.

Bingo, a raffle and a visit from Father Christmas ensured that everyone went home full of joy and festive spirit.
