AFTER the felling of one of Liphook’s prominent landmarks in The Square – the horse chestnut tree outside The Royal Anchor last October – pub landlords Greene King Brewery have been working on finding a replacement.

They have now come up with a short list of four different species and have requested that Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council should co-ordinate a vote on the choice of replacement tree by villagers. Votes have to be in by March 31.

The four options are a sweet chestnut native hornbeam, tulip tree, or a caucasian lime.

Residents can vote by dropping into the parish council office at the Haskell Centre on Midhurst Road car park between 10am and 1pm, or the Millennium Centre on Ontario Way between 9am and 4pm and fill in a form.

Alternatively, e-mail your choice to [email protected] or call the parish council office on 01428 722988.
