GRAYSHOTT gardeners are getting stuck in to ensure their plots look their very best for a grand public viewing later this year.
The Hidden Gardens of Grayshott event, which is held every two years to raise money for community projects, will be open for two days on the Sunday, May 26, and Bank Holiday Monday, May 27.
As well as the gardens, activities will include a children’s treasure hunt, fire station open days, a working forge, a demonstration beehive, a tour of the village’s historic trees, a ‘Made in Grayshott’ stall, bell ringing, home-made teas and home-grown plants at bargain prices.
The event has gone from strength to strength. At the last opening in 2017 there were 26 gardens to view. This year the number has risen to 30.
This will be Grayshott’s eighth Hidden Gardens and the scheme has raised more than £25,000 for community projects.
It is supported by Grayshott’s businesses, including Warren Powell Richards (WPR) Estate Agency and Grayshott Pottery.
Darren Light of WPR said: “I could not be more enthusiastic about our association with such a worthwhile event in our community.
“It is a wonderful day out for all the family and raises funds for such a vast range of diverse projects in our area.”
Programmes, with a map to help plan the route, will be on sale for £6 at the ‘box office’ on the village green, or in advance at WPR, Pins and Needles and Grayshott Wine Centre.
