A FARNHAM man is awaiting sentencing after sending an abusive e-mail to a Tory MP who had been headbutted by a fellow MP in a Westminster bar, a court has heard.

Nicholas Scales, 41, of Upper Hale Road, told Pudsey MP Stuart Andrew to "stop wasting police time", insulted his sexuality and called him a "mammies boy".

Scales added: "The sooner the IRA restarts and bombs your conference again the better" and recommended the politician go out in Leeds and Bradford to "toughen up".

Leeds Magistrates Court heard the email was sent to Andrew's constituency office three days after the MP was attacked by Eric Joyce, the Labour MP for Falkirk, in a House of Commons bar in February.

Scales earlier admitted sending a malicious communication and the court was told he was fit for unpaid work, despite suffering from mental health problems.

His sentencing has been delayed until August 22 after magistrates adjourned the case to give the probation service time to complete its report on him.
