SURREY Police are investigating a report of a serious sexual assault which took place in Haslemere in the early hours of October 26.

The victim was walking home along Sandrock around 12.15am when the incident took place.

Officers sealed off the woods by Sandrock and Lower Street and continued their investigations until after midday.

The police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the offence, or anyone with any other information, to come forward, by calling 101, quoting crime reference number PR/45180115840. Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
