THEY might have had to borrow a flagpole and the site is still under construction, but this did not diminish the pride and dignity of Whitehill Town Council's Armed Forces Flag Day on Monday, held to honour the men and women serving around the world.

The ceremony, held a few days earlier than the official Armed Forces Day, was run in partnership with the Bordon Garrison, which loaned the flagpole.
