AN undercover operation could take place at a

Petersfield beauty spot following a sewage leak close to a nursery.

Petersfield Town Council wants engineers to have a look at the stability of sewage pipes under the Little School on the Lake.

Foul waste has risen to the surface around the nursery during the last fortnight, prompting fears of a blocked or collapsed drain.

The issue came to a head a week ago when Petersfield Town Council gave £650 in emergency funds to a waste disposal firm to suck out the sewage.
