SURREY and Sussex Police forces have announced changes to their chief officer teams.

Chief Superintendent Matt Twist is leaving Surrey to join the Met as Commander of taskforce and armed policing.

Joining in the collaborated Assistant Chief Constable role for specialist crime in Surrey and Sussex will be Jeremy Burton, replacing ACC Stuart Cundy who leaves to take up a role in the Metropolitan Police Service as Commander for major crime.

ACC Burton joins from his role as the Met’s temporary Commander for criminal justice and roads policing.

The second significant appointment is Laurence Taylor, who has been appointed to the Assistant Chief Constable role for local policing in Sussex.

The new ACC has worked for Sussex Police throughout his career before successfully completing the national senior command course.

Other changes are the departure of Tony Blaker who leaves the role of Chief Superintendent operations for Surrey and Sussex to join Kent Police on his promotion to Assistant Chief Constable.
