AN unusual accident on the A3 proved to be a real pane in the glass for motorists on Tuesday.
A lorrry loaded with glass panes shed some of its load at the notorious Ham Barn roundabout off the A3 near Liss, sparking major tailbacks.
No-one was hurt when the lorry, travelling south toward Petersfield, failed to negotiate the egg-shapped roundabout, sending around two tons of glass shattering onto the road in the process.
Lanes northbound and southbound were initially closed immediately after the accident, which happened just before 2.30pm, sparking long queues and having a knock-on effect at rush hour.
