THE VICAR of Sheet, the Revd Sarah Chapman, is to leave St Mary Magdalen in the autumn.
At the annual church meeting, and later in St Mary's, Mrs Chapman announced that she would become vicar of the parish of Bittern Park, Southampton.
When she leaves Mrs Chapman will have been vicar of Sheet for almost five-and-a- half years.
Four former worshippers at Sheet are to be ordained at Petertide, June 29.
Anne Gell, currently a deacon at Headley Down, will be priested at Guildford Cathedral and Lindsay Meader, currently a deacon at Cherry Hinton, will be priested at Ely Cathedral.
Tony Pears will be made a deacon at Norwich Cathedral to serve in the parish of Wootton, and Beth Woodgate will be made a deacon at Portsmouth Cathedral to serve at the parish of Stubbington.
Mrs Chapman told The Herald she would dearly like to be present at all four services.
However, the timing of the services and their locations make it unlikely that she will manage to attend more than two unless, she said, a kindly helicopter owner can offer her a lift.
