A?STORE on Alton High Street had to be closed on Wednesday after a woman drove her 4x4 into the wall of the building, leaving a gapping hole.
While no-one was hurt in the incident at Boots, staff working in the pharmacy section at the time were said to be “extremely shaken” while customers were evacuated and the store closed.
It is thought the driver of the green Suzuki Grand Vitara lost control of the car and ploughed into the side of the building on Market Street.
She appeared to be unhurt, but the front of the vehicle was badly damaged.
The crash happened around 11.15am and no other vehicles were involved.
