A DRIVER suffered a fractured sternum and minor abrasions after two vehicles collided at the junction of Shepherds Hill and High Street in Haslemere, causing damage to a shop window frame.
The driver of a Renault Kangoo (pictured) was taken to Guildford’s Royal Surrey County Hospital for treatment, and was released later the same day.
The December 23 crash, which also involved a silver BMW Estate, happened just after 8am, when the roads were quiet. Traffic was directed away from the scene.
In July, an HGV lorry travelling down Shepherds Hill into the town centre narrowly avoided crashing into the same shop front of Allen Avery Interiors.
Proprietor Paul Avery told The Herald in July: “We have had impacts at numerous times – not just lorries, but cars and coaches mounting the pavement.
“When vehicles come out of the junction the drivers do not realise the depth is much shallower than they think.”
