STORES in Chiddingfold are among five premises in Waverley caught selling alcohol to an under-age customer.

Surrey Police is taking action against staff as part of a continued crackdown on licensed premises in the borough.

Staff at Roberts Stores in Petworth Road, Chiddingfold and Forrest Stores in The Green, all served alcohol to a 16-year-old test buyer. along with three in Farncombe – the Co-op in St Johns Street, the Wine House in Farncombe Street, Farncombe, and Costcutters in Green Lane.

The joint operation by by Surrey Police, Trading Standards and Waverley Borough Council targeted 13 outlets across the borough on November 1. Members of staff who failed the test purchase were issued with £80 fixed penalty notices.
