ALTON'S Shopwatch Scheme has been given the green light with the allocation of a £2,890 grant from the Hampshire Police Authority Crime Prevention Panel.
It is now up to local traders "to put their hands in their pockets and come on board," says scheme leader, WPC Alyson Rowledge, who is delighted with the grant and keen to get Shopwatch up and running as quickly as possible.
