ALDERSHOT have a great chance to continue their cup exploits this season after dicing with defeat at Maidenhead on Saturday.

The Blue Square South side were threatening an FA Cup upset as they stoically defended an early lead at their York Road fortress.

Michael Rankine's equaliser eventually spared Aldershot's blushes with 12 minutes remaining and if the Shots win the replay on Tuesday, as they should, they will earn an attractive away tie with League One high-flyers Sheffield Wednesday on December 3.
