PREMIER League champions Manchester United in the Carling Cup, Blue Square South strugglers Maidenhead United in the more revered FA Cup – Aldershot fans cannot complain about a lack of variety this season.

After the mild embarrassment of a draw at Maidenhead, Aldershot did what they had to do on Tuesday night and now, following clashes with Man United and West Ham (beaten 2-1 in the Carling Cup), they face another iconic name in football, Sheffield Wednesday, in a lucrative FA Cup second-round tie on December 3.
