ALDERSHOT Town's Boxing Day game was anything but an enlightening festive occasion.

A floodlight failure caused the game to be abandoned at half-time and key defender Darren Jones faces a lengthy suspension after being sent off for an act of retaliation.

There was no argument about referee Gavin Ward's decision to call the game off, although confusion reigned for a time after the interval because of contradictory announcements.
