WITH less than a month to go before Rio Olympic Games 2016, Shottermill Infant School staged a mini-sporting extravaganza at its summer fair earlier this month.
Visitors enjoyed competing in themed games, such as beat the goalie, spot the ball and the Olympic rings challenge.
The raffles were also very popular due to the generous prizes donated by the school community and local businesses.
Headteacher Jilly Storey said: “Everyone went home clutching prizes, plants and cakes. The Friends of Shottermill Infants were raising funds to support the school project to put in extra sporting challenges in the playground.
“This summer we are installing some all-weather surfacing and basketball hoops, this follows on from our new Trim Trail last year and our indoor climbing wall the year before.
“A rousing cheer was given in thanks to Jenny Ransom who has been the chairman of the school Friends group for the last year.
“She has done a super job organising our very popular family events.”
