NOT many of the great masterpiece painters had their work publicly exhibited before they were even old enough to attend school.

But youngsters from Grayswood Nursery and Forest School turned to the brilliant French impressionist Monet for the inspiration behind a collection of their work which has been on show not only in the village hall but also at Haslemere Museum, one of the country’s top small museums.

The children were given tips and practical help by artist in residence Gina Taylor and nursery art co-ordinator Jane Tims and used every day household items to fire their imagination in recreating Monet’s masterepieces such as the lily pond and sunflowers.
