THE Bourne Hall threw open its doors to the community last Friday for the unveiling of its reinvention as a state-of-the-art performing arts studio courtesy of the Showshack Dance and Theatre School.

Many residents and parents came to see the newly-refurbished premises which include two purpose-built dance studios and a drama room.

Class demonstrations included boys tap dancing, junior street dance, ballet, LAMDA lessons in drama, modern dance and Showshack minis theatre school.

Actor Ben Heathcote, who starred in the recently acclaimed BBC TV comedy series Way To Go as well as Mama Mia, Fame and The Beautiful Game, officially opened the studios.

Ben, who has also run acting workshops at Showshack in the past, was delighted to see Showshack have its new home, encouraging and nurturing performing arts to local children.
