LONG-term sickness and maternity leave has been putting a strain on services provided by East Hampshire District Council's environment department, councillors have been told.
Petersfield district councillor John Crowhurst told fellow members of the environment services committee last week that its annual report was peppered with references to members of staff being absent because of long-term sickness.
