Bordon's Robert Allen has won Britain's first ever Paralympic cycling medal when he scooped Silver in the men's 1,000 metre time trial in Sydney.

The blind 40-year-old, who lives in Apollo Drive, and his able-bodied cycling partner Andy Slater broke their own world record of one min 5.761 secs by .339 of a second to win their medals.
