PETERSFIELD, close to the country home in Steep Marsh of Sir Alec Guinness has become the final resting place of the famous actor.

He was laid to rest in a private burial service in the town's cemetery last Friday. The service followed a requiem mass which took place in the Roman Catholic church of St Laurence in Station Road. The actor had became a regular member of the congregation of St Laurence's after he converted to Catholicism more than 40 years ago.
