THOUSANDS of people took to the streets of Surrey on Saturday to cheer on elite cyclists including Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish in the penultimate stage of this year's Tour of Britain. The riders tackled a gruelling 140-mile route from Camberley to Brighton, including a section across the historic Elstead Bridge, past Elstead Common, and on toward Churt and Hindhead. Julien Vermote secured the stage victory, while Dutchman Dylan van Baarle held off Wiggins to be crowned overall winner of the 2014 Tour of Britain following the final stage on Sunday.
