TWO sisters are aiming to raise £4,000 through their campaign ’A Year to Hear’ for charities Action on Hearing Loss and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, in memory of their father died from an aneurysm 20 years ago.

Allie and Ciarran Minns, who grew up in Farnham, wanted to do something to mark their father’s 20th anniversary and after much deliberation decided on a year of fundraising and physical challenges to raise money and awareness for the charities - as their father was hard of hearing, which led to other mental stresses.

They aim to complete four physical challenges over the course of the year, the first of which was running up the 1,000 steps of Heron Tower in London, last month.

Ciarran said: “In between these challenges we will do fundraisers and awareness raisers, such as the Maltings’ Market which was a great success, thanks to those who came.

Their final challenge is in August, when they will be walking for a continuous 24 hours along 100km of the south coast.
