A PROPOSED six-day closure of the A325 in Wrecclesham for resurfacing next week has been deferred, the county council has confirmed.

As reported in this week’s Herald, Surrey County Council was set to close the A325 Wrecclesham Road between the Coxbridge roundabout and the railway bridge for resurfacing works from April 1-6.

A new date for the work is yet to be confirmed.

But a number of major roadworks schemes are set to start in the Farnham area next week – with traffic delays likely as a result.

Echo Barn Lane will close at its junction with the A325 for resurfacing from March 29-30, followed by closures of South Street between the Royal Deer and Hickleys Corner crossroads, and Beldham Road, Wrecclesham, sometime between April 1 and October 1, with specific dates to be confirmed.

A lane closure to replace a faulty traffic light on the A31 Farnham Bypass at Hickleys Corner is likely to cause delays on March 28-29.

And a lane of the A325 Woolmead Road, at its junction with Bear Lane, will be closed from March 30 to December 9 to form a permanent single-lane closure for the high volume of lorries accessing the Woolmead construction site.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A287 Farnham Road in Churt until March 29 and in Upper Hale Road from April 1-5 to accommodate work by South East Water.

One-day temporary traffic lights will also be in place on March 31 on the B3005 Alma Lane for works by Vodafone.

Openreach cabling works will result in temporary traffic lights on the A325 West Street at its junction with Crondall Lane and closures in surrounding residential roads from April 1-5.
