FUNDRAISING is set to begin in earnest as plans are submitted to provide wheelchair users with a unique skatepark in Petersfield they can call their own.
The special extension to the existing facility will be the first in the country if the scheme gets the go ahead from South Downs National Park Authority planners.
Designed with both gentle slopes and other more challenging features, it would suit a range of users from the very young to adults.
Nigel Wells, founder of the Festival for Young People group who masterminded the opening of the town's skatepark at Love Lane almost 10 years ago, said that a planning application for phase two was being submitted this week.
