Lower speed limits look set for 15 Farnham roads more than four years after the town council first campaigned for the road safety measures.
The new limits, down from 60 to 40 or 30 mph, are to be brought in by Surrey road officers by late May or early June, following a delay put down to legal arguments and a shortage of road contractors.
